ANIMAL PROCESSING CLASS JANUARY 28-30
Sign ups available now, more info coming soon

SHEEP CAMP
February 24th-28th

Welcome to Sheep Camp,

Spend 5 days on a working sheep ranch, during lambing season, on the beautiful Central Coast of California.  This is an opportunity to learn about the daily care of a flock of sheep, including round the clock support of lambing. Participants can expect to experience a wide range of duties and will work closely with supervising shepherds.

Learning
opportunities may include
daily checking of animals

assisting in lambing
ear tagging
rotational grazing of pastures w/non permanent fencing
cooking over a fire
animal processing and
skinning
preparing a hide for tanning
working with wool
felting and more

Lambing season is an intense moment within the year of a shepherd. We check our ewes every 2-3 hours during a 6 week period to make sure everything is going ok. We take the approach of hands off, unless help is needed. A successful lambing season is an uneventful one.

Participants will arrive Thursday morning with their own camping gear, and what they need to be comfortable including food for the duration on the internship. We will have the opportunity to experience an asado (cooking a whole lamb over the fire). Please email us if you have any questions! Class sign ups begin Sunday morning.
